Bruschetta with Walnuts

by Zeynep Dinç

This recipe smells like my childhood. It is my mother's special recipe for sunday breakfasts. I share this Aegean recipe with a modern touch.

You'll need

  • toast bread
  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce (if possible homemade or organic)
  • 100 gr crushed walnut
  • 2 cloves of garlic (crushed or small sliced)
  • dried mint, thyme, salt
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Some parsley

Here's how

  1. Place some crushed walnut and spices aside and stew all the ingredients together in a pan for 2 minutes.
  2. Divide the toast bread slices into squares or cut a round slice.
  3. When the sauce comes to room temperature spread it on bread slices.
  4. Serve them with crushed walnut, spices and parsley.
